Productivity!

Yay - I've been busy! I like it when I feel like I'm actually getting something done. Really - and it's been a while since I've felt like that...

Progress has been made on Rosebud's Request... I've spun up the yarn for the back - I still have to get started on spinning the other half of the rovings for the front. But there's a lot of knitting yet to be done on the back, so I'm okay for the moment.

This is definitely one of those patterns that you need some good quiet time to sit and knit. I've been marking up the pattern, ticking off the rows as I complete them. I've done as much on the first half of the back as I could, without having the next skein of yarn yet. That's spun and ready to start the second half of the back, but I also started another project!

This is the Krista Tee from White Lies Designs. I found Joan McGowan Michael's book at Borders last weekend, and bought it - there aren't that many patterns in there that I'll probably knit, but they sure are pretty! I've been wondering what to do with this yarn anyway - it's the Kid Merino/Mohair that I named Bubble Yummy. I think this is the nicest yarn that I've ever worked with. The nicest fiber for sure! It's sooooo soft. I'm loving it so far. I changed the pattern as written to knitting it in the round, and am not 100% sure about the fit - didn't even do a gauge swatch (gasp! I'm actually usually pretty good about that one). But if I have to pull it all out to knit again, I don't think you'll hear me complaining too much.

I started it because I didn't have the the next skein of yarn for Rosebud's Request spun up yet, and y'all know - I needed something to keep me busy. I started this at lunchtime two days ago, and am about 7 or 8 inches up the body (oh my!). I've been picking it up at every opportunity and knocking out a few rows. Adds up fast! Plus I'm using 4.25mm needles, which is bigger than I'm used to using.

Oh - and the book itself? It does have some beautiful designs in it! But one thing that I've always loved about JMM's designs is that they are wonderful for real women - and real women's curves. This book? Almost all of the models are really thin, not tremendously voluptuous in any sense of the word... I can't be the only one that was a bit disappointed with that. But I've been really absent from the blogosphere just lately, with work and not having internet at home... I honestly just haven't had any time to do any surfing around to see what everyone's up to. I miss my bloggy friends - and if I haven't commented on your new beautiful creations, it's not because I don't care - I just haven't even seen them!

I'm really looking forward to the three day weekend... I'm really kind of hoping that I can get both of these done with all the time off - any bets as to whether or not I'll succeed? Yeah, well, nevermind - a knitter can dream right?

Anyway - I shall leave you with this last bit of prettiness, it's just an anenome that I snapped on one of my lunch time walks.Oh, and my latest doofus maneuver? I left my wallet at home last night. Today was payday, and I couldn't spend anything - no wallet - no plastic - no ID - no cash. Luckily one of the girls let me borrow a bit of money till tomorrow so I was able to get myself some necessities (mmmm coffee!).

I've enjoyed your spinning and knitting projects and recently learned to spin on a spindle myself. You're one of the few bloggers that I read who use both a spindle and wheel -- and I think that's the coolest thing. I look forward to reading future posts of your beautiful Rosebud's Request.

Your bubble yummy looks really nice. I like that it's not that thin a yarn and you can use 4.mm needles. The color of course is awsome! I'm glad you are back to knitting! Have a wonderful long weekend, with or without knitting and spinning! BTW your last pic is not showing up.

All the knitting looks awesome. I really love the Bubble Yummy, but corals are one of my favorites. Happy knitting and hopefully you will get back to the blogverse soon.

I love the Krista tee pattern. It's on my list of things to make, someday. The bubble yummy yarn looks good with it.

I couldn't leave a message under your roving dyeing post so I am posting it here. How did you not get dye running out all over the countertops? Where did the extra dye that didn't absorb go?
